About us

The Global Fund Advocates Network Africa (GFAN Africa) was created in 2011 to unite voices and efforts in support of a fully-funded Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The network recruits, mobilises, connects, coordinates and amplifies the voices of civil society, advocates and communities — to advocate for a successful replenishment and for increased domestic resources for health across the continent.

GFAN Africa has nearly 500 members and is hosted by Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) in Francophone Africa and WACI Health in Anglophone Africa.

Objectives

01

An era of multiple crises

Political and economic instability, climate change, pandemics — these interconnected crises threaten to overwhelm health systems and reverse the progress made against HIV, TB and malaria.

02

A social movement with memory

For decades, the fight against the three diseases has demonstrated the power of global solidarity. Today's crises transcend borders, cultures and generations — and so must our response.

03

The power of partnerships

Communities, civil society, political leaders and institutions all have a role to play. We must work together to support the Global Fund's proven partnership model.
