Malaria Coordination: The PNLP–CS4ME Regional Taskforce Holds Its First Quarterly Meeting in Bafoussam 2

On August 28, 2026, the first quarterly meeting of the NMCP–Civil Society (CS4ME) Regional Taskforce was held in Bafoussam 2. This initiative, led by Foundation Moje partner of the Equité Accès Palu project, falls under its specific objective 1 dedicated to coordinating malaria control activities.

Around the same table sat 10 mapped civil society organizations, the Local Community Health Committee of Bapi, the head of the health area and the Mayor of Bafoussam 2. This inaugural meeting brought together all the key actors engaged in the fight against malaria in the region.

The discussions resulted in several concrete recommendations. Foundation Moje will transmit to the Regional Technical Group (GTR) and the partnership coordinator the complete list of its civil society partners, to ensure better recognition and participation in regional meetings. Civil society organizations will submit their action plans to the coordinator, in order to reorganize and structure field activities, clearly defining objectives, areas of intervention and diagnostic assessments of their zones.

Each organization was also asked to have its action plan validated by the district for improved monitoring, to select one health area in which to concentrate its efforts, and to prepare terms of reference for its activities, including a survey on the availability of Long‑Lasting Insecticide‑treated Nets (LLINs) in households.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with participants convinced that more regular coordination between the NMCP and civil society is key to a more effective fight against malaria in the region.
