On July 8, 2025, the Doumé Health District hosted the final stage of the training workshop series on social and behavior change communication (SBCC) tools co-created with communities.
Organized by Impact Santé Afrique, the National Malaria Control Program, and the civil society organization ADES—an implementing partner of the Équité Accès Palu project—this session brought together a wide range of stakeholders: administrative authorities, traditional and religious leaders, civil society representatives, community health workers, and other committed actors in the fight against malaria.
Among the tools showcased and enthusiastically received by participants were posters, visual education boards, and a song in the Bakoum language.
Two key initiatives emerged from the workshop:
- The decision to establish a local coordination body to oversee community-based malaria control efforts;
- The creation of a collective of association presidents to strengthen planning, coordination, and the overall impact of interventions at the district level.
In Doumé, as in all intervention districts of the Équité Accès Palu project, the focus now shifts to concrete implementation and rigorous monitoring of the action plans developed during the workshops.
