As a continuation of the experience carried out in Maroua 3, Impact Santé Afrique, the civil society organization AJERED MT, and the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP) organized on June 25, 2025, a training workshop on the use of social and behavior change communication (SBCC) tools for malaria control, as part of the Équité Accès Palu project.
This session brought together health district actors, traditional leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and community health workers with a shared goal: to take ownership of gender- and socially inclusive tools, tailor awareness efforts to local realities, and strengthen coordination of field interventions.
Participants explored a variety of communication tools co-developed with communities, including the malaria prevention wheel, educational posters, and traditional storytelling materials. The workshop also initiated a strengthened monitoring approach based on:
- Regular follow-up of activities outlined in the action plans;
- Increased involvement of traditional leaders at all levels;
- Enhanced collaboration between community health workers and CSOs to maximize the impact of community outreach.
Mokolo is paving the way for a structured, inclusive, and sustainable community-driven response to malaria.
