Civil society taksforce meeting – towards a strong contingency plan!

On Monday, June 9, 2025, members of the civil society taskforce gathered at the Cortex Center Langage to continue developing an integrated contingency plan addressing the three priority diseases: HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.

The objective was to finalize the specific plans for each disease in order to build a coordinated, inclusive, and sustainable community response. Among the participants were Impact Santé Afrique, Affirmative Action, Horizon Femmes, RENATA, FESADE, Humanity First Cameroun Plus, CAMFAIDS, NOLFOWOP, RECAJ+, ACT, and Coalition+.

At the end of the discussions — which notably addressed the urgent need to mobilize new funding to sustain high-impact interventions — several key recommendations were made:

  • Explore new advocacy approaches
  • Finalize the global contingency plan
  • Rethink targeting strategies and enhance the value of community-based work
  • Identify domestic and alternative funding sources

📆 A follow-up meeting will be scheduled at a later date to incorporate final contributions from CSOs and consolidate the community mitigation plan.
