Background
Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) is an African non-profit association based in Cameroon whose main objective is to contribute to the improvement of people’s health by implementing transformative and sustainable programs that will save lives and improve the health of our communities. (For more information, visit www.impactsante.org). Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) also coordinates the CSO Platform for Malaria Elimination (CS4ME) and the Global Fund Africa Advocates Network (GFAN Africa). As such, ISA has launched the “Voix de la Lutte” program, an initiative aimed at building the capacity of young local leaders and activists to provide strong advocacy for the fight against malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. To this end, ISA is recruiting a consultant to build the capacity of the program’s 2025 cohort.
Consultation objective
Overall objective:
During a 3H online session, the consultant’s mission is to strengthen the leadership and communication skills of African scientists, researchers, pediatricians and nurses involved in the fight against malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
Specific objectives: The consultant will :
- Draw up the training agenda and facilitate the session
- Train on themes adapted to the scientists’ profile (express themselves confidently in public, adapt their speech to the audience, structure their interventions and embody their message).
Consultant’s duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director of Impact Santé Afrique (ISA), and in collaboration with the Program Manager, the consultant’s job description covers the following:
- Design and run training workshops
- Train association members (volunteers, peer educators, community agents, etc.) in advocacy, community awareness and social mobilization techniques.
- Adapt content to the specificities of the three diseases and to the target audience (youth, women, community leaders, etc.)
- Use participatory techniques adapted to the community approach
- Develop adapted training materials (guides, presentations, practical sheets)
- Organize sessions to simulate speeches, debates or presentations
- Support teams in preparing advocacy campaigns and lobbying actions.
Expected deliverables
- Preparation and transmission of presentations to Impact Santé Afrique (ISA).
Required profile
The Consultant must have a degree in one or more of the following fields:
- Master’s degree in communication, organizational capacity building or equivalent experience;
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills;
- Experience in workshop facilitation;
- Good writing, analysis and synthesis skills;
- Familiarity with remote meeting and conferencing applications.
- Extensive experience in capacity building for advocacy and strategic communication.
